Relaunches Belgian courts if illegitimate daughter of King Albert II – Digital Journal Juárez

Brussels – The Belgian Constitutional Court authorized on Wednesday to further discuss the case of the artist Delphine Boel, who seeks to demonstrate that his father is the ex-King Albert II Delphine Boel, who would have been born in 1968 of a long relationship of his mother, Sibylle de Sélys Longchamps, with Alberto, then Crown prince, submitted in 2013 a request for acknowledgment of paternity in a court of Brussels.

According to the decision of the high court, the claimant may answer’s husband his mother, Jacques Boël, is not his father, though he considered her as his daughter throughout her youth.

the lawyers Albert II stressed that Boël Delphine had taken too long to file your claim. However, the high court held that the limitation period laid down by the Civil Code is unconstitutional.

In September 2014, DNA tests revealed that Jacques Boël was not the biological father of Delphine, by Theodora Baum attorney.

Since his abdication in July 2013 for his son Philip, Alberto is responsible to justice like any other Belgian citizen, and does not enjoy any immunity.
