The sleep deprived people are much more likely to sign false confessions, according to a study published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Science (PNAS).

the chances of signing a false confession were 4.5 times higher among study participants who had been awake for 24 hours in front of those who slept eight hours the night before.
