The G5 LG will have a ‘Always On’ screen – unocero

The G5 LG promises to be a great spacing of the leading smartphones of the company, as stated in previous reports that count with a new design. And now, according to a GIF published by the company itself, we know that the G5 will display Always On.

This does not mean that the panel is always on, but it displays basic information like time , date and notification alerts in a state where black and white and only some part of it, while the rest remains off.

This is not far from what other companies like Motorola, have made with active notifications on their phones since 2013 in Moto X, although the GIF suggests that LG could adopt this new display technology with the G5.

And is that OLED screens do not use conventional taillights, which means they can save energy when only certain parts of the screen are In use. This could be the way the G5 could work with Always On screen, unlike LCD view the G4, which consumes a lot of energy no matter what is being displayed, so that OLED screens are best fit this kind of features.

also worth mentioning that LG had already experienced a similar placing a secondary display of electronic ink on your phone V10, plus the division LG display recently announced it would invest several thousand functionality of millions of dollars to increase its productive capacity in OLED displays.
