Summit of European Socialists deal with terrorism, the economy and employment

Madrid, Feb 21 (EFE) .- The fight against jihadist terrorism, how to boost economic growth and job creation and foreign policy of the EU are the key issues of socialist summit, held today in Madrid and wherein about 40 leaders participating
The prime ministers of France, Manuel Valls.; Sweden, Stefan Löfven; Romania, Victor Ponta; Malta, Joseph Muscat, and the German Vice Chancellor and Economy Minister Sigmar Gabriel, besides the President of the European Parliament, Martin Schultz, are among the leaders who have announced their participation in this conclave.
It is also confirmed the participation five European Commissioners, the head of EU diplomacy, Federica Mogherini; vice president of the Commission Frans Timmermans and Maros Sefcovic, and holders of Environment, Karmenu Vella, and Regional Policy, Corina Cretu.
The secretary general of the Spanish Socialist Workers Party (PSOE), Pedro Sánchez, will host the eve nt, which like every year is organized by the Party of European Socialists (PES).
The recent terrorist attacks in Paris and Copenhagen will be present at the talks participants also pay tribute to the victims of the attacks of 11 March 2004 on commuter trains in Madrid, in which nearly 200 people died.

On terrorism, participants will send a message on behalf of the Social unit to combat the growing threat of jihadism.
