Spain: Detained members of a jihadist recruitment network – Daily Mail

The Guardia Civil in Spain today arrested four people to dismantle a network of recruitment and indoctrination of the terrorist group Islamic State (EI).

Two people were arrested in Melilla, a city located in northern Spain Africa, and two in Barcelona and Gerona (northeast), others reported the Interior Ministry.

One of the detainees ran a virtual community where EI propaganda material was edited, and had more of a thousand followers and with great impact on areas of Spain where Islamist radicalization, the source said.

We also had many supporters outside Spain, particularly in Latin America and in other countries as diverse as Belgium, France, Pakistan, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, USA, Turkey and Tunisia.

During the operation, which remains open, the Guardia Civil in Spain has made records in the homes of those arrested.

The two arrested in Melilla using various Internet platforms for spreading propaganda of terrorist groups, especially the EI, which was also edited and translated into Spanish by detainees to reach a greater number of people.

They made apology for terrorist tactics with emphasis on the act of martyrdom, according to sources policpia of Spain.

Those arrested held meetings in private homes which showed potential recruits, including women, videos of EI.

Some youth of Spain had already begun prior preparation for moving to areas of activities of terrorist groups, according to sources.

The Guardia Civil in Spain investigates the connections of the two detainees in Melilla with arrested in Barcelona and Gerona.

They developed a strong pro-jihadist activity and in turn interacted in a Facebook page managed from Melilla.

One had been defined in a report by CNN on Islamist radicalization as a supporter of the Islamic State resident in a Western society.
