The fire that is ravaging the Costa Blanca in Spain – BBC World

A huge forest fire has devastated more than 800 hectares in the tourist region of the Costa Blanca in Spain.

Authorities suspect the fire was ignited intentionally because they have identified three different foci of fire burning since Sunday.

More than 1,400 people were evacuated from their homes in Javea and spa Benitatxell, south-east of the country.

According to the Red Cross, residents have been allowed to go home.

Although the flames are under control, are not yet extinct, and wind and high temperatures can still create problems .
