The leader of the Socialists Spain Pedro Sanchez, said on Monday it wants to talk with other political parties, including the centrist Citizens and grouping anti-austerity Podemos, to find a solution to the political impasse eight months in the country.

the head of the caretaker government, Mariano Rajoy, leader of the conservative Popular Party , failed to obtain a parliamentary majority last week in a vote of confidence to form an Executive, which began a two-month period in which the parties again try to get support to build consensus.

“I propose that we start a round of consultations to see what we find among all this jam solution,” said Pedro Sanchez at a press conference.

Sanchez reiterated his opposition to Rajoy, for whom the socialist party (PSOE) voted against last week, but added that it wants to talk with the Popular party.

the leader of the PSOE tried to form a government with can and Citizens in March, but failed due to deep divisions between the parties. If the two-month period ends without an agreement, will be convened to new likely elections for December 25
