SPAIN: Catalonia requests the Government to transfer in three phases suburban, regional and AVE – EntornoInteligente

Reason / The Minister of Planning and Sustainability, Josep Rull, today proposed that the Government assume full management of the Catalan railway network, suburban, regional and high speed in three stages, but has not set a specific timetable.

Josep Rull has made this proposal in parliamentary appearance to report the objectives and actions of his department in this term.

the Minister has requested the transfer of the railway network in Catalonia because the Government wants to “be guilty of our decisions and no hostages from the mistakes of others.”

to take on this management, R ull explained that the government would to make a public interest declassification of riders, after which the Government will claim the record of handover and a bilateral commission, where the phases of the transfer will be established it will be convened.

Rull has proposed that the transfer was done in three phases, in the first suburban was transferred, in a second, the Government will take the riders from the rest of the network conven l, which includes regional service and, finally, it is in the hands of the Government’s network of Alta Speed.

In the first phase, runners would include: Castellbisbal-Arc de Triomf Arc de Triomf-Mataro-Maçanet Massanes; Arc de Triomf-Montcada Bifurcació; Bifurcació Montcada-Manresa-Lleida Pyrenees, the access ramp to Cerdanyola Universitat; Montcada Puigcerdà bifurcations; Sant Vicenc de Calders-Vilanova- Passeig de Gràcia-Nus de Mollet, Passeig de Gràcia-Estacio de Franca and El Prat de Llobregat-Airport
