Office Spanish quotes 5 people by burning photos of Felipe VI – Hispan TV (press Release)

The Spanish National court has cited this Tuesday to declare, as investigated, five people burned pictures of king Felipe VI in the Day.

The judge of the Audiencia Nacional Fernando Andreu, has explained, by means of videoconference, that the act performed during the anti-capitalist demonstration of the last Day is a crime to insult the Crown.

The investigated are Aitor Blanc, a spokesman for SOM Gramenet, in the town Hall of Santa Coloma de Gramenet (Barcelona), a candidate in which it participates, we Can; Jordi Almiñana, Nora Miralles, Ivan Altimira and Roger Santacana.

Miralles was part of the candidature of the Candidature of Popular Unity (CUP) in Barcelona, as a substitute, in the regional elections of 2015; Altimira is advisor to the group of this formation in the city Hall of barcelona; and Santacana is linked with the party, anti-capitalist, and was included in the lists of Manresa (Barcelona).

however, Altimira made clear last Friday that none of the five defendants going to the courts to declare, therefore, according to his own words, have "taken the humble decision to disobey".

During the anti-capitalist demonstration of the Diada, Altimira burned a photo of the Spanish monarch in the middle of the plaza del Rei in Barcelona, where he installed a banner which read "Neither king, nor fear. We disobey".

Altimira and Miralles emphasize that the fact of burning photos or pages of the Constitution is not a crime, so they declared that they do not want to "ask forgiveness for not recognizing a few institutions, whose attitude is fascist".

The manifestation of the Day —official holiday of the northeast region—,, held last September 11, was organized by the CUP of Catalonia and other related entities as Alert, Arran and Endavant.

During the march, the participants shouted slogans such as: 'the one Who sows misery collects rage', 'Open borders', 'Out fascists out of our neighbourhoods' and 'I-inde-independencia', among other slogans.

Catalonia seeks independence from the Spanish State; the barometer of the Center of Opinion Studies (CEO) of the Generalitat showed last November that in the event that a referendum should be held sovereignty in this area, 44.9 % of catalans would vote 'yes' and 45.1 per cent would vote 'no' to independence.
