Five Days / A May 4, 1976 out of rotating the first issue of the newspaper El País, time when Spain began its journey transition to democracy. So, 40 years later, this newspaper has become one of the best confidants of that troubled time and memorizes images, texts and photographs, not only of those turbulent years, but the recent history of Spain.
from today until next Sunday 8, the Palacio de Cibeles in Madrid hosts an exhibition, free access, which covers the main events of four decades of journalism in more than 350 images, 120 covers, 15 screens and seven different categories . Inaugurated yesterday by the mayor of Madrid, Manuela Carmena, the exhibition, which is divided into different spaces, begins with a show of images on a giant screen 180 degrees, in which the universe of the 40 words that have marked projected the values of this newspaper and inspired his life. Concepts among which can be read “progress, innovation, future, coexistence, consciousness, creativity, commitment or culture.”
