One possible reform would give “a solution to the separatist challenge in Catalonia without produce resentment in the rest of Spain “point.

Spanish Justice Minister, Rafael Catala, said last Thursday that the government is studying a possible” reform “of the Constitution in specific cases, such as the demarcation of the powers of the State and the autonomous communities.

Since then, all parties have shown their ideas and preferences to the possible reform would be the second change since 1978, at which it was approved and voted by the public.

However, the PSOE does not consider collecting a specific formula for constitutional reform in its election manifesto for the general elections scheduled for later this year.

The Socialist Party of Catalonia (PSC) proposed Catalonia as a nation contemplate a possible reform constitutional, a decision that state socialists (PSOE) never confirmed.

Another change contemplated by the PSOE will be the role of the Senate.

The main idea is to reduce the number of senators.

There are a total of 266 senators elected with numerical and provincial criteria, so that regions such as Madrid have 11 senators against 39 who chooses Castilla y Leon, much less population but more provinces.

These are two of the topics that include socialists for a possible change in the Spanish Constitution.

The government is also considering amending the current preference of men over women in succession to the Spanish Crown.

The Constitutionalists, coordinated by Professor Gregory House and the head of the electoral program, Meritxell Batet, presented in September the leader of the Socialists, Pedro Sanchez, the first draft on changes to the Constitution, as recorded by the newspaper El Pais.
