No Latin university among the 100 best in the world – ElTiempo.com

According to the analysis by the Center for World Class Universities in Shanghai Jiao Tong University on higher education, no university in Latin America or Spain is among the 100 best in the world.

The Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) indicated that Harvard is still the number one followed by Stanford, MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology), Berkeley, Cambridge, Princeton, Caltech (California Institute of Technology), Columbia, Chicago and Oxford.

In Latin America, the Autonomous University of Mexico, the University of São Paulo and the University of Buenos Aires were located among the top 200. Four other institutions of Brazil, Chile and the University of Zaragoza, in Mexico, on the list of 500.

The Autonomous University of Barcelona Autonomous and Complutense de Madrid are between 200 and 300 positions.
