Roman Polanski: Poland has not received documentation for extradition – RPP News

The court in Poland studying extradition request for director Roman Polanski to the US, where it is charged with sexual abuse of a minor in 1977 , said he has not received within the time limits required documentation to the US authorities.

The court in the city of Krakow, has decided to extend the deadline for the time may delay sending the document by mail, local media reported today.

In the last hearing of the case, held last May 22, the court said it had requested further information from the US authorities, a dossier should arrive before 8 this month.

According to the law Poland, Krakow if the court rules in favor of extradition, Polish Minister of Justice will ultimately decide whether to give the green light to process .

Polanski, 81, born in Poland and lives in France, he is accused of having sex with a 13-year-old Samantha Geimer, crime who pleaded guilty in 1977 and which spent 42 days in jail, after which released on bail .

In 1978 fled the United States before the hearing to fix it, for fear of the sentence the judge could impose.

On 24 December, a court in Los Angeles rejected the defense request to permanently close the case, preventing him from stepping on American soil.
