EL NUEVO DIARIO,, SANTO DOMINGO.- The minister of Tourism, Francisco Javier Garcia, will lead the dominican delegation that will participate in the 37th edition of the International Tourism Fair (FITUR), to be held from 18 to 22 January 2017, in Madrid, Spain.
in Addition to the minister Garcia, the dominican delegation will be composed by hotel entrepreneurs, artisans, and representatives of the Association of Hotels and tourism of the Dominican Republic (ASONAHORES).
During the event the minister of Tourism will hold business meetings with the purpose of concluding agreements with the airlines and tour operators, to ensure more tourist arrivals to the country.
In this conclave involved over 160 countries, surpassing the 2016 and in the same Dominican Republic seeks to reaffirm its position among the tourists of spaniards who prefer to Quisqueya as your destination of long-distance.
the Fair is the platform where companies meet, bodies and institutions linked to the tourism sector from all over the world, being is the first fair of the industry, which is held each year and will be held in the IFEMA exhibition centre.

In the last edition of Fitur reached a new record with a total of 231.872 visitors, including 124.659 professional participants, 2% more than in 2015, and 9.605 companies present from 165 countries.
