Although San Luis Potosí has a tradition of voluntary donations of the community, yet need higher levels of citizen participation, since every day in the Hospitals of the ministry of Health will employ tens of units in severe patients or in surgical process, said dr. Laura Olivia Flores, Director State Blood Transfusion of the ministry of Health.
For this reason, in order to have reserves for the emergency department of each Hospital, the ministry of Health organizes the First world Day of Blood Donation under the motto: “Donate blood and give life”, which will be next Thursday, January 19, in the central offices of the Institution.
“The importance of the altruistic donation of blood is because it has been shown that a donor, volunteer decreases the risk of disease transmission, unlike what they do for family replacement, this is an element that will always be beneficial to the patient who needs it,” explained the Head of Blood Transfusion.
Laura Olivia Flores announced that the voluntary donation decreases the pressure towards the family by replenish the blood, and although it is not an obligation, it will always be more important than the family you are with your patient and not thinking about donating.
he Explained that the State Center carries out campaigns of altruistic donation of blood in order to obtain this vital organ and can lead to all units of the Secretariat in the state.
Invited the population to attend the next Thursday, 19 January 2017, from 8 in the morning, to come forward to give a little life to the neighbour to donate blood.
he Said that the requirements are: under 65 years of age; have good health; have not been vaccinated recently, not having had hepatitis; fasting of 4 hours; not having ingested alcohol and to submit credential of the INE.
