Madrid, 3 nov (EFE).- The new Government of Mariano Rajoy is structured around 13 ministries and 25 Secretaries of State, according to the royal decree that restructured the ministerial departments and has entered into force today, following its publication in the official gazette.
The current ministerial structure has been reformed to “further the objectives priority for Spain, to develop the political programme of the Government and to achieve maximum effectiveness in their action and greater efficiency in the operation of the General Administration of the State”.
According to the royal decree, which has had access Efe, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, staffed with three Secretaries of States: Foreign Affairs, to the European Union and the International Cooperation and for Ibero-america.
The Ministry of Justice shall have a single Secretariat of State, like the Defense, while the Finance and Public Function will be provided with three of these higher bodies: the Treasury, Budgets and Expenditure and Public Function.
The document also specifies that the Ministry of the Interior will have a Secretariat of State of Security, and the Promotion with another of Infrastructures, Transport and Housing.
The department of Education, Culture and Sport will be structured around two: State Secretariat for Education, Vocational Training and Universities; and Culture.
The Secretary of State for Employment and Social Security are the two higher bodies of the Ministry of Employment and the Security that directs Fátima Báñez, as stated in the royal decree, which also establishes the following organization for the Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda that will lead Alvaro Nadal: Energy; Information Society and Digital Agenda; and Tourism.
The department of Agriculture and Fisheries, Food and Environment will have a Secretariat dedicated to the Environment, while the Ministry of the Presidency and for local Authorities is structured around a Relationship with the Courts and other Territorial Administrations.
The portfolio of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness will be with the other three higher bodies: Economy and Business Support; Trade; and Research, Development and Innovation, while the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality, will the Secretary of State for Social Services and Equality.
According to the royal decree, is maintained, the Secretary of State for Communication and assigned organically to the Presidency of the Government, and functionally to the minister to assume the functions of spokesperson, in this case, Íñigo Méndez de Vigo.
The Government will hold its first Council of Ministers after being sworn in before the King Felipe
The new Government of Mariano Rajoy meets today in the Palace of the Moncloa, after swearing before the King and, after this first Council of Ministers will result in the change of portfolios in the various Ministries.
