French Muslims attended today (07/31/2016) Sunday Mass in many cities across the country in a call launched after the Jihadist attack last Tuesday in a church in Normandy where the parish priest was slain while officiating one Mass.

the French Council of the Muslim Faith (CFCM) had called in that sense to show the widespread rejection of the faithful of Islam in France to murder, claimed by the Islamic State (EI) of Jacques Hamel priest in the church of Saint Etienne du Rouvray, on the outskirts of Rouen.

Today, Mass Rouen cathedral was one that aroused most attention, and she came in addition to a 2,000 faithful Catholics at least a hundred Muslims (in the case of some women, her head covered by a scarf), which coincided with the three nuns who were also taken hostage by terrorists and with relatives of Hamel.

Thank you “on behalf of all Christians”

Archbishop Dominique Lebrun thanked them “on behalf of all Christians” because their presence showed that reject “the dead and violence in God’s name. That is not Islam. “

The same scenario was repeated in other large Catholic basilicas throughout France, and Saint Denis, Amiens, Strasbourg and Clermont Ferrand.
