The CEO of Police Cosidó Ignacio said today in Santander, at the close of the seminar ?? challenges of migration in the twenty-first century. Trafficking in human beings for sexual exploitation ?? that ?? trafficking in human beings, especially for sexual exploitation is one of the great scourges of our society on a global scale ??.
In this seminar organized by the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo (Menéndez Pelayo International University), Cosidó noted that in the first year of the police plan to combat trafficking in human beings for sexual exploitation have doubled the number of operations, liberated women and detainees .
The Commissioner of Police in Spain said that trafficking in human beings is the third activity of organized crime, after drugs and theft. One in ten groups organized crime in Spain is dedicated to trafficking.
From April 1, 2013 until June 30, 2014 there have been a total of 361 operations against trafficking in human beings humans for sexual exploitation. These operations have resulted in a total of 1,121 detainees, identifying 13,446 victims and the seizure of movable and immovable property worth 12,700,000 euros.
