The lower speed limit on roads and highways – Blasting News

Although it is a subject that is already ahead of the Traffic Department, measures are planned to start next spring. Thus, as have been reported, nearly one hundred percent of the roads and streets of our country will be forced to change their speed limits to reduce much of conventional routes to 90, 70 or 50 km / h as to the streets to 30. The measures will be contemplated in reforming the General Regulation Traffic by the Directorate General of Traffic (DGT ), as stated by the Interior Minister Jorge Fernandez Diaz, during the plenary session of the Higher Council for Traffic.

Jorge Fernandez Diaz also clarified that the measures envisaged to take in just three months are in response to the problem of road accidents because as he said, speed is a key factor that increases in a very high percentage rate of car accidents. Detailed some of the reports and data traffic compared to recent years, where it was found that the rate of accidents increases on the roads of a single lane, which unfortunately gave their lives in one of them 894 persons in 2014, index really high if we contrast that total road deaths over the past year was 131 thousand people.

Depending on road sections of each drop from 100 to 90, 90-70, and finally of 90-50 km / h. On the other hand, the speed limits in motorways will 120 km / h , although some could be varied 130 km / h . As for the cities , the speed limits are reduced to 30 km / h in the streets of a lane in each direction , but may vary and change at different rates depending on the circumstances and characteristics of each of the streets, but as a rule, as has been noted, the limit is 30 km / h. With all these measures are to be reduced to a very high percentage of the loss ratio.
