A British tourist critical after falling from the fourth floor to jump to a … – Journal of Mallorca

A British youth suffered serious injuries yesterday when jumping from a fourth floor in Magaluf, Calvia. The victim, aged about 25, tried to access a room in an apartment through the balcony when he lost his balance and fell into the void from more than 15 meters. The economy remained critically ill in hospital because Espases injuries suffered throughout the body as a result of the fall.

The incident occurred at the quarter past nine in an apartment building located at number 11 Martin Ros Garcia Street, next to Punta Ballena. Several calls alerted the emergency services that a young man had rushed from several meters in height and lay unconscious on the floor. The place attended an immediate UVI Ib-Salut and patrols the Civil Guard and local police in Calvia.

The health workforce found that the victim had injuries and serious bruises, so after attend to on-site emergency moved to Espases hospital and admitted in critical condition. Caregivers underwent several tests to know the exact extent of the injury and was kept under continuous attention to the seriousness of their situation.

The Judicial Police of the Guardia Civil launched an investigation into what happened and to identify the victim. The agents interviewed several friends of the wounded, who explained that they are British and were spending a few days in Mallorca holiday.

According to research carried out by agents of the military institution, the young and companions had spent the night partying, consuming large amount of alcohol in bars and nightclubs in Magaluf. At about nine o’clock they decided to end the spree and returned to the apartments in which they are housed.

It appears that the victim decided to access their room, located on the fourth floor of the building, through the balcony. So he climbed the railing of an adjoining terrace and tried to jump to his, but failed and ended plummet from over 15 meters high.

Three dead since April
From the beginning of the high season, three tourists were killed in Magaluf when hurrying from their hotels. On April 17, a Norwegian 23 year old died after falling from a fourth floor, where he sat on a low wall of the roof and lost his balance. On July 13, a Danish 20 years died instantly when jumping from the fourth floor of an establishment; August 7 and 22 French died after falling from the sixth floor of a hotel when jumping onto a balcony after losing the keys to your hotel. The three fatal incidents occurred at dawn.
