President resigns Andalusian Parliament for scandal … – El Universal (Venezuela)

MADRID The socialist president of the Spanish region of Andalusia, José Antonio Griñán, presented in the Senate on Monday his resignation regional parliamentary seat waiting for the Supreme Court to confirm or not your complaint as part of a corruption case, as reported by Spanish media.

The resignation, which had been announced earlier, occurs a day after the socialist Susana Diaz was invested president of the Executive of Andalusia with the support of the emerging party Citizens Center, who had asked to change the resignation of Grin and another former regional president, Manuel Chaves, DPA reported.

Diaz, 40, took office in 2013 following the resignation of Grin following the corruption scandal for which he is now accused, the so-called “case of the ERE “investigating whether there was an alleged diversion of public funds originally meant for workers and companies affected by adjustment plans in Andalusia.

After the elections Advance held in the southern region of Spain on 22 March, Citizens marked as red line output Grin and Chaves to support the Socialist Party (PSOE) in forming a government.

The Supreme Court has yet to decide whether to go ahead or not the imputation of both in the case of ERE. Chaves, currently deputy in the Congress, headed the regional government of 1990-2009.

The two regional presidents are suspected of corruption and embezzlement, among other crimes. The judge said the Mercedes Alaya Seville, one of Spain’s best-known judges for the instruction of this case.
