OG-2026: New mayor withdrew candidacy of Barcelona – AnsaLatina.com

MADRID, 17 (ANSA) – The flamboyant mayor of Barcelona, ​​Ada Colau enshrined in front of a made up can coalition, withdrew the candidacy of the city for the Olympic Winter Games in 2026.
“There are priorities and not enough consensus among the population,” said Colau in dialogue with the Catalan press after the vicealdalde, Gerardo Pisarello, confirm the decision publicly through the newspaper La Vanguardia.
Colau, former leader of the Occupy movement and founder of the Platform of People Affected by Mortgage in Barcelona in 2009, won in the municipal elections of May 24.
