The Catalan Parliament has agreed on Wednesday the creation of a commission of inquiry on fraud and tax evasion and political corruption practices. All groups have the camera initially supported the resolution by Republican Left, ICV and the CUP, but which have been added to the PSC, CiU, PP and Ciutadans.

The commission was created after confession last July 25, the president of the Generalitat Jordi Pujol that he had a hidden account abroad for nearly 34 years. Although ERC showed reluctance at first, it’s over driving the initiative.

In the same session today, PP and Ciutadans have also submitted another proposal for a second commission of inquiry into accounts offshore bank on behalf of public office or excargos and illicit enrichment and collecting kickbacks from these. Only the PSC voted in favor of this proposal, which was rejected.

The commission created has now formally establish and agree a schedule of appearances, but with the political scene who lives Catalonia and the possibility of early elections, the work could be very brief.

In any case, most of the parties do agree that one of the first appearing must be Jordi Pujol, who last September 26 declared in the Parliament, but did not say virtually nothing about the fortune left him by his father, people who administered and evolution of legacy received in September 1980, which quantified in dollar equivalent of 140 million pesetas.
